Shikari's Chipotle Fire-Kissed Adobo
I’ve been so blessed to spend winter in my favorite place on the planet—Tulum, Mexico. Life here has been filled with trips to the local farmers' markets, cooking adventures, and endless inspiration with my beloved Shikari. If you didn’t already know, he’s the ultimate slappy sauce master!
We love foraging for local spices, peppers, and fresh ingredients to create something truly magical in the kitchen. Recently, Shikari whipped up this incredible fire-kissed adobo, and it’s pure magic. It’s spicy, tangy, creamy, peppery, smoky, and absolutely heavenly.
The secret? Releasing all those bold flavors by lightly sautéing the ingredients—fresh tomatillos, Mexican chipotle, and his special mix of seasonings—before blending it all into a smooth, velvety sauce. We jar it up and enjoy it all week!
It’s perfect dolloped on a tofu scramble, spread over crusty sourdough with smashed avocados, or paired with soup and rice. Truly a flavor-packed game changer that will kiss every meal you love to enjoy with a touch of fire. Hope you love it as much as we do!

• 1 lime
• 3-4 tomatillos tomato
• 2-3 cloves garlic
• 1/2 bunch of cilantro
• 1-2 each habanero, serrano and jalapeño chilis (this amount varies on heat level)
• heavy handful of dried chilis (guajillo, morita, ancho, pasilla or mulato-I prefer the Smokey flavor)
• 1 tsp coconut oil
• 1-2 tsp pink salt and pepper to taste
In a skillet sauté whole garlic, tomatillos, and fresh chilis of your choosing in coconut oil until they sweat, blister and get some char color. Transfer into blender and blend all sautéed ingredients, lime juice, dried chilis and cilantro until you have a nice creamy consistency. No water is necessary with the natural juices the tomatillos provide-you may just need a plunger to get your sauce blending. Transfer to an air-tight glass container and enjoy for up to 2 weeks stored in fridge!
